Does the vinyl yellow over time?
Not EverDoor™ vinyl, because of Wayne-Dalton’s vast experience with
vinyl. Unlike many vinyl products that become yellow or chalky with time,
EverDoor retains its new look for decades. This is due in large part to
DuPont Ti-Pure® titanium dioxide, a key ingredient which assures color
consistency and stability throughout the vinyl. Does the vinyl become brittle in cold weather?
Actually, yes. However, due to the chemical bonding of the vinyl to the
structural polyurethane foam core, the impact resistance of EverDoor vinyl
is substantially increased. Does the vinyl expand and contract?
Yes, all vinyl does. But with EverDoor, that’s not a problem. The
vinyl skin’s chemical bond to its structural foam core minimizes
expansion and contraction, and the skin’s “floating wrap” to
the inside of the door section allows for the expansion and contraction
that does occur. Is there a thermal break between
the interior and exterior?
No. A thermal break is used to prevent condensation caused by the transfer
of cold from one piece of metal to another. None is necessary because
EverDoor is made of vinyl.
